The Edge of Something

I felt something today .....or maybe it was someone?

I've been waking up unusually early for more than a week now. This is great because it means I'm up and in the studio super early. As a result, I've had a mighty productive week!

I was about 3 hours into my work today and things were really flowing which always elevates my mood to 'dance' level. Suddenly I sensed a quick movement over my right shoulder. At first I thought that maybe it was a housefly or a bumblebee buzzing around. I had a look around, which didn't take long - my studio is very very small, but didn't find anything to explain what I had seen/felt out of the corner of my eye.

So me being me, I automatically assumed that I had been joined by a visitor of the spiritual kind. I have read or heard somewhere that a flicker in your peripheral vision can signal the presence of spirits. So I went with that ...lol.

I had just taken out a canvas that I've been working on for quite some time now. It has been an on and off thing with this piece... mostly off to tell the truth. Well, today it was ON. I'm not sure if my 'visitor' had anything to do with it, but I got a result on the canvas that made me feel like I was on the edge of something. I have the strangest sensations come up sometimes when I paint!

The weird thing about this is that I was working on the piece from the opposite direction and it was only after it was finished and I turned it upside down for a look, that I actually saw the 'edge' (maybe of reason)? So basically you are looking at a painting that I created upside down! How cracked is that?!

Painting is such an amazing experience at times. No wonder I'm hooked! More and more I am beginning to understand that I just need to let things happen as they will and as they want.

This week I've been working on my 100 in 100 Series, but I've also been working on a variety of pieces for regular sale. It's been a really really productive week with lots of more pieces being added to my "Available List". Check them out here.

This is my "spirit induced" one.

I'm calling it "Cracking Up" (why not!!??)

30 x 40cm / Acrylic and paste on canvas

Currently Available here.

Below is a picture of the full painting as well as a close up of the texture (cracks) in the piece.
